Day 1: Lima – Colonial & Modern City Tour
Upon your arrival in Peru, you will be greeted by our guide at Jorge Chavez International Airport (LIM). In the afternoon, we will take you on a tour of Lima’s iconic landmarks, providing you with a deeper understanding of the country’s rich traditions. You’ll visit the Cathedral of Lima, showcasing Spanish colonial architecture, and explore the Plaza Mayor, the city’s historic heart. This area also features the Government Palace and the Municipal Palace, a significant 17th-century landmark that represents Lima’s colonial history. You will be staying overnight in Lima.
Day 2: Lima to Cusco – City Tour & Archaeological Park
After breakfast, we’ll fly to Cusco, where you’ll be transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, we will visit pre-Hispanic sites such as the Koricancha, the Temple of the Sun, which was central to Inca worship. You’ll also experience the grandeur of Plaza de Armas, then visit the Sacsayhuaman fortress, renowned for its perfectly fitted stone walls. The tour will continue with visits to the shrines of Kenco and Tambomachay, significant Inca religious sites. Overnight in Cusco.
Day 3: Cusco to Machu Picchu & Return to Cusco
The next day, we begin with a scenic train journey to Machu Picchu. As you pass through Andean landscapes and lush jungles, you’ll be captivated by the breathtaking views. Once in Aguas Calientes, we’ll take a bus up to the Machu Picchu citadel, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Enjoy exploring the mystical site and walking through its alleys before returning to Aguas Calientes for lunch. In the evening, you’ll board the train back to Cusco for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Cusco to Puno – Sun Route
We begin the day with a transfer to the bus station and head towards Puno, located in the Peruvian Altiplano. Along the way, you’ll see the Church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas, often called the “Sistine Chapel of America,” and visit the archaeological site of Raqch’i, dedicated to the Inca god Wiracocha. After a lunch stop in Sicuani, we’ll continue to the town of Pukara for a visit to its museum, where you’ll learn about the region’s Andean heritage. Overnight in Puno.
Day 5: Puno – Uros and Taquile Islands, Lake Titicaca
Today, we’ll visit the world’s highest navigable lake, Lake Titicaca. Our first stop will be the floating islands of Uros, home to the Aymara people who live on islands made of reeds. We’ll continue to Taquile Island, known for its impressive textile work and archaeological sites. After a local lunch, we’ll return to Puno for the night.
Day 6: Puno to Lima, Then Flight to Ecuador
In the morning, we’ll fly back to Lima, then take a connecting flight to Quito, Ecuador, where you’ll spend the night.
Day 7: Transfer to Santa Cruz Highlands
Upon arrival in Santa Cruz, our guide will greet you at the airport and transfer you to the Itabaca Channel. You’ll cross the channel by barge before heading to your hotel.
Day 8: Santa Cruz to Isabela Island
In the afternoon, we’ll visit Puerto Ayora pier and take a water taxi to Isabela Island. We’ll explore the island’s wetlands, renowned for their scenic trails and diverse landscapes, which are home to unique flora and fauna. After spending some time in the wetlands, you’ll return to your hotel for the night.
Day 9: Tintoreras Tour
Today, we’ll head to Tintoreras Island, named after the white-tip sharks that inhabit the area. Along with observing these sharks, you’ll encounter marine iguanas, sea lions, and a variety of fish while snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters.
Day 10: Sierra Negra Volcano Tour
On this day, we’ll explore the Sierra Negra volcano, the oldest on the island, followed by a visit to Volcano Chico, an active volcano. After experiencing the heat of the volcanoes, we’ll return to Santa Cruz by boat and water taxi.
Day 11: Bay Tour and Tortuga Bay
We’ll spend three hours at Tortuga Bay, a stunning beach famous for its nesting turtles, where you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. The afternoon will involve a four-hour bay tour, with visits to sites like Loberia, the Love Canal, Franklin Bay, and Playa de Los Perros, where you’ll see marine iguanas and dog crabs.
Day 12: Transfer from Santa Cruz to Quito
In the morning, we’ll take a boat to the Puerto Ayora Airport, where you’ll catch a flight back to Quito. Spend the night in Quito.
Day 13: Quito City Tour + Middle of the World
Today, you’ll explore Quito’s historic center, visiting notable sites such as the National Vow Church, Independence Square, and the Government Palace. We’ll also see the Intiñan Museum, where you can stand at the equator and take fun photos, as well as the monument marking the division between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
Day 14: Transfer to the Airport
On the final day, your driver will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the airport for your return flight home.
